Statement by the UNA-IRAN in Condemnation of the Killing of Schoolgrils in Minab County by the US Strike against Iran
The United Nations Association of Iran (UNA-Iran) expresses its profound shock and unequivocal condemnation regarding the recent attack on schoolgirls in Minab. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and the people of Iran. Reports indicating that innocent students were targeted while pursuing their education represent a grave violation of international law and the most fundamental principles of humanity. Targeting educational institutions and children constitutes a flagrant war crime and a crime against humanity. According to the report from Iran’s Ministry of Education, the scale of aggression by the Israeli and American regimes has been devastating. To date, 306 teachers and students have been martyred, and 120 schools have been completely destroyed across Iran as a result of these attacks. UNA-Iran calls upon the United Nations, the UN Security Council, and all international human rights bodies to:
- Unequivocally condemn these inhumane attacks.
- Take immediate and practical measures to hold the perpetrators accountable.
- Ensure the protection of civilians, particularly children and educational centers, in accordance with the Geneva Conventions.
We stand in solidarity with the bereaved families and demand international action to end these atrocities.
